Concerning the additional dues collected if the pilot cabin is not available or not suitable and if the pilot ladder is not applicable during the first transit
As the owners of ships transiting the Suez Canal complain about the additional dues collected when the pilot cabin is not available or not suitable as stated in SC Rules of Nav. August of 2015 Art . 42 para 2, page 58 and also if the pilot ladder is not applicable to Art . 24 para (C) page 52, the Suez Canal Authority has decided the following : –
Article one:-
1) Para 2 , Art .42 page 58 of SC Rules of Nav. shall be amended to read as follows : –
– If the pilot cabin is not suitable , an additional dues of 5000 US Dollars shall be collected as from the second transit .
– An extra charge of 1000 US Dollars shall be collected for each relieving pilot if relieved as from the first transit.
2)Para 2, Art. 24 page 52 shall be amended to read as follows : –
– If the pilot ladder is not applicable to S.C Rules of Navigation and the accommodation ladder is not in good order , an additional dues of 5000 US dollars ,shall be collected as from the second transit .
– The shipping Agency shall be informed of this measure on the first transit to take action . The extra charge of 5000 US Dollars shall be applied on the second and subsequent transits if violation of the Rules continues.
Article Two:-
This circular shall take effect as of 1 /11/2016.
